The company RDA was established in 2000 as a service organization for a single-occasion administration of the preliminary programme CBC Phare SFMP 99. In 2010 there was a 10th anniversary since its establishment. It gave inspiration to realize a project called “RDA – The platform for cross-border regional development”, which is aimed to assess the RDA ten years’ activity. RDA has been using a new logo since 2010.
Among the main activities there is cross-border cooperation in European unity, intention to develop friendship and mutually useful contacts as well as relationships at various levels between the Czech Republic and Poland through commonly realized projects. The main objective of the regional voluntary association is to remove inequality among borderline regions and gradually level off economic and social development. Its activities reach all aspects of cultural, social, economic and infrastructural spheres of local inhabitants, particularly in the Czech-Polish border area.
During its ten-year existence RDA has built a significant position in the field of developing agencies. However, it is now essential to look ahead and adapt to the current trends in subsidy politics. Under the terms of the project RDA has introduced a new image. A new logo and motto have been presented as well as leaflets and promotional items. Promotional roll-ups have been made for successfully realized projects to be presented at various meetings.
There was an international conference held on 2 - 3 September, 2010 commemorating the 10-year anniversary of RDA.
The Czech-Polish conference took place on the premises of newly constructed Municipal Theatre and Community Centre UFFO in Trutnov being the very first major event. It was a welcome opportunity to evaluate existing RDA activities as well as current and future development. On the agenda was namely evaluation of assets to individual regions and realized projects from different points of view. In addition, the participants were able to exchange experience in making contacts, preparation and realization of the Czech-Polish projects and compare visions of future mutual relationships.
When the conference finished, all participants arrived in the sport and recreational complex BRET nearby Prkenný Důl u Žacléře with awaiting common sport and social activities. There was a historically first Czech-Polish football match.
Next day took place a common hiking trip along the Czech and Polish borderline on the trail of Czech and Polish friendship to the mountain Sněžka. The 2-day meeting was the climax of the ten year’s existence of Regional Development Agency and a way of thanks for cooperation to partners in state administration, municipalities, private sector as well as current and former employees or other partners.
Last but not least task is a publication of the 10-year activity report.
